Pain control and function restoration.
Timberlands Physiotherapy Clinic is a centre for pain control and function restoration. We are an ARCAR Centre, which makes us a data-driven clinic: we incorporate medium and high level evidence into our movement disorder diagnoses and care protocols, and we focus on the cause of a problem, not only the symptoms, so that pain does not keep coming back.
Physiotherapy is our specialty.
Your injury may not be listed here. We assess it with detailed history taking, acute observation, special clinical testing and, if it is relevant to your care, diagnostic imaging ordering and report integration, then choose the most suitable treatment from a whole range of options. In Canada you do not need a doctor's referral to consult a physical therapist.
Common injuries
Sports and repetitive use injuries
We work with weekend marathoners and recreational sports participants to reduce pain and restore mobility, then prescribe exercises you can safely perform to stay free of injury. Overuse injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis and tendonitis are treated the same way.
Back and neck pain
More than 50 percent of Canadians experience back pain or neck pain at some point in their lives. Both can take a serious toll on quality of life and are major reasons for lost work days. We treat low back pain, sciatica, herniated discs, whiplash, neck stiffness and nerve impingement.
Sprains, strains and fractures
Sprains damage the ligaments that hold a joint together, most often at the wrist, ankle, knee or fingers. Strains tear or stretch a muscle or tendon. Fractures usually follow a fall. We offer a course of therapy to promote healing, reduce pain and restore function as quickly as possible.
Specialized care
Seniors' physiotherapy
An older but more active person presents differently from a younger but less active one, and their care takes a different pathway. Two of our physical therapists have experience treating seniors and middle-aged patients, including osteoarthritis and fractures from osteoporosis. We are close to many seniors' residences in the Timberlands area.
Home care physiotherapy
For patients who, due to their condition, cannot make it to the clinic. A full assessment may include balance tests, physical function studies, transfers evaluation and a review of mobility equipment, with a home exercise program based on the findings. We may even review your home for physical safety hazards.
Electrotherapy and acupuncture
Interferential current, TENS, electrical muscle stimulation, low intensity laser and ultrasound therapy, used alongside manual therapy for pain and muscle spasm relief and soft tissue healing. Acupuncture with disposable needles reduces muscle tension, promotes healing and increases your range of motion.

A few of the 53 reviews, in the patients' own words and shortened only for length.

Sheyi is extremely knowledgeable, and was able to adapt to my limitations from a previous injury. After a couple months of working with him, my shoulder feels better than it has in a very long time.
Sheyi is absolutely amazing! I went to physio after herniating a disk in my neck. I went into my first appointment with lots of numbness and weakness in my left arm and I walked out of that appointment with NO numbness at all and my weakness was significantly decreased, and has now since dissipated completely.
Sheyi the amazing physiotherapist, he is professional, courteous, knowledgeable, very clever in what he is doing. He diagnosed me in no time and start working on my healing plan which is working very well so far. He along with his assistant Chris and receptionist Motso are a great team providing a great service in their clinic.
