Timberlands Physiotherapy Clinic

Services

Conditions we treat and services we offer

Timberlands Physiotherapy treats a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Below is the full list of treatment categories, the conditions we see, the electrotherapy agents we use, and how to book.

Treatment categories

Back and Neck Pain

More than 50% of Canadians experience back or neck pain at some point. Both take a toll on quality of life and cause significant lost work days. We treat the cause, not just the symptom.

Sprains, Strains and Fractures

Sprains (ligament damage from excessive joint force), strains (muscle or tendon tearing/stretching), and fractures (bone cracks from excessive pressure, often from falls). We promote healing, reduce pain and restore function as quickly as possible.

Sport Injuries

We work with recreational and low-to-medium level athletes. Custom treatment programs to restore mobility and keep you injury-free going forward.

Repetitive Use Injuries

Carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis. Affects athletes, workers, and anyone using one body part repetitively. Physical therapy is effective.

Pre-habilitation

Physiotherapy before surgery to optimize recovery outcomes. Research confirms that patients who do physio before surgery recover faster and more completely.

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Collaboration with your medical team. Focus on joint replacement surgery recovery. Increase strength, restore activity and return to normal faster.

Upper and Lower Extremities

Assessment and treatment of arm, hand, leg and foot conditions.

Postural Problems

Gait analysis, root-cause identification, and therapy to correct posture and prevent compounding problems.

Headaches

Physiotherapy and relaxation techniques shown to alleviate chronic headaches and prevent recurrence.

Jaw Pain (TMJ)

Assessment and treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Reduces inflammation, restores function and regenerates injured tissue.

Neurological Conditions

Assessment and treatment of neurological presentations affecting mobility and function.

Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries

Assessment, pain relief, reduced swelling and muscle spasm treatment. Delaying physio after an MVC prolongs recovery. We handle the assessments and documentation those claims require.

Manual Therapy

Hands-on physiotherapy. Our lead physio is a Certified Manual Therapist (CMT), using manual techniques to treat musculoskeletal conditions.

Industrial Rehabilitation

Workplace injury rehabilitation with a focus on restoring function and supporting return-to-work.

Home Care Physiotherapy

For patients who cannot travel to the clinic. Full assessment including balance tests, physical function studies, transfers evaluation, mobility equipment reviews and home safety hazard review. Home exercise program provided.

Seniors Physiotherapy

Specialized care that accounts for how aging affects body systems. Osteoarthritis, other arthritis and osteoporosis-related fractures. The clinic is well located near several seniors residences in the Timberlands area.

Electrotherapy & Acupuncture

We use electrotherapy agents (ETAs) in combination with manual therapy, never in isolation. Each modality is selected based on your diagnosis and response.

Interferential Current (IFC)

Reduces pain and muscle spasm through controlled electrical stimulation.

TENS

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator for pain relief and nerve stimulation.

Electrical Muscle Stimulator (EMS)

Stimulates muscle contraction to restore strength after injury or surgery.

Low-intensity LASER Therapy

Promotes tissue healing and reduces inflammation at a cellular level.

Ultrasound Therapy (U/S)

Deep tissue treatment to reduce pain and accelerate healing.

Acupuncture

Single-use needles to reduce muscle tension, promote healing and improve range of motion. Used alongside manual therapy, not in isolation.
